Unleash the Power of the Truth
Welcome to iLeadTM
Retreats & Spiritual Direction

Originally, iLEAD was created to train corporate leaders in the art of leadership and team building according to the principals prescribed by Jesus of Nazareth. Our hope was that by using these prescribed methods there would be a desire to know more about the man named Jesus. However, as time progressed, I became more convinced that without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the blessings of God the Father and of God the Son, the fullness of the lessons would be lost. Using the same structure as outlined in the iLEAD formula, we want to be a companion, a guide and a facilitator in strengthening your relationship with God.
In the book of Acts, Paul tells the Athenians, “He made from one the whole human race to dwell on the entire surface of the earth, and He fixed the ordered seasons and the boundaries of their regions, so that people might seek God, even perhaps grope for Him and find Him, though indeed He is not far from any one of us.”
According to the Scriptures, God set the world in motion in order than man would seek God. From this we can draw two conclusions. The first is that God desires to have a relationship with us. The second is that human beings desire a relationship with God. So, why is it that few of us enjoy a close and vibrant relationship with our God? Especially those of us who are churched and attending regularly.
If we look at the intent, not the actual words of the Ten Commandments, we can draw some significant clues. The first three commandments were summarized by Jesus when He said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.” That’s a tall order! You might even be saying to yourself that I do love God! If you are like me, when my wife tells me that I don’t love her, I can’t understand why she would say that. However, when I look at the time and the attention that I provide her, it soon makes sense. Relationships take time. To grow our relationship, it takes time, one-on-one time. We need to attend to one another so that there is an exchange of who we are, what we’re doing and the experiences we are having whether they are experiences that bring us joy or sorrow. That’s how we get to know each other. The same is true of our relationship with God. We must spend time with Him - alone time!
In today’s society, several obstacles prevent our alone time. The noise in our life is so loud that we have a hard time hearing. Noise can be things like television, radio, cell phones, the internet or just the day-to-day demands on our lives. You might want to ask if these activities have become your idols.
Although pastors and authors of Christian books play an important role in our spiritual development, they can also cause much damage. Let’s go back to the analogy of the relationship with my wife. When I first started dating her, I didn’t send my best friend to take her out and then tell me about it. I took her out myself! We did things and we talked about things and we just spent time together. I may have asked my friend how best to interpret a few things, but I sure did not want him to take my place on the date. How about you? Have you allowed televangelists, writers or pastors to take your place with God? This might be a problem.
